Tronixpro World Dab Championship RNLI Fundraiser

Event: World Dab Championships 12th February 2017

Tronixpro is delighted to be sponsoring the 2017 World Dab Championships, an annual match held in the south east of England to raise funds for the RNLI.

This annual dab fishing competition is run and organised by Simon Newman, Chairman of the Dungeness Angling Association and owner of Dungeness angling B&B, Castaways.

The aim of the match is to catch as many dabs over 25cm as possible, the angler with the heaviest weight of dabs combined will be crowned the Tronixpro World Dab Fishing Champion. There is also a separate category for Juniors.

In order to fit in with the tides the 2017 Championship will be held between 10am and 3pm with registration at Dungeness RNLI from 07:15am (ignore the time on the poster). To keep you warm during registration hot drinks and breakfast rolls are available just after 7am and for those weighing in, burgers and hot drinks from 3pm.

The event is non pegged with boundaries between Folkestone and Rye, although all piers are out of bounds, this enables you to fish in most wind conditions and reduces the chance of the event being cancelled. This is a family friendly event so the roving nature allows you to fish with your family or your mates. All anglers must be in the queue to weight in by 4pm.

Entry costs £10 with every penny going to the RNLI, last year the competition raised over £5,000!
