Adam Kirby

Discipline: All-round lure angler

Adam KirbyAdam Kirby has been angling for nearly 30 years. The first 20 of which were almost entirely focused on sea angling, fishing in and around his home town of Portsmouth.

In recent years, Adam relocated to the Andover area for work and despite frequent trips back to the coast, an increasingly busy life lead to Adam seeking closer options for his sport. This period coincided with a growing addiction to Light Rock Fishing (LRF) which he found transferred perfectly to the beautiful Perch found in his local stretch of the Kennet and Avon Canal.

Although Adam still regards himself as a sea angler, the boundaries have blurred. Perhaps best described as an all-round lure angler, across both freshwater and salt. Adam is well known on the freshwater lure competition circuit for his exploits targeting Perch with Ultralight lure methods.

His encyclopaedic knowledge of light lure tackle and his balanced tackle approach have lead him to many podium positions and most recently, his first angling title – British Street Fishing Champion 2015.

An avid species hunter, Adam has landed over 30 lure-caught saltwater species in UK waters and says he never tires of not knowing what fish will come next. LRF, HRF, Bass and Boat, Adam does it all. Combined with his freshwater exploits, we’re looking forward to working together to make Tronix and HTO even greater.

Adam’s motto is simple. “Fish for what’s in front of you. Big or small, love them all.”
