A smooth shrink tube that slides over rig components easily without frustration. Its use in carp fishing is widespread, especially when it comes to enhancing the hooking properties of rigs. Shrink tube will reduce to a third of its original diameter when heated over steam or in hot water. It also becomes stiffer and retains its shape which makes it ideal for creating hook aligners and for increasing the shank length of hooks for better hooking. With many carp waters banning long shank hooks, this is the perfect, safe way to mimic a longer shanked hook. Shrink tube can also be used to protect knots. Whilst it can be used with steam, it is often safer to shrink it in hot water, where there is no chance of weakening line with hot steam.
